متن کاملHyaluronic acid gel fillers: hypersensitivity reactions.
The author recommends that, contrary to currently accepted protocol, patients undergo skin testing before receiving injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) gel fillers. The risk of hypersensitivity to HA gel fillers, although low compared with bovine collagen, is a factor to consider. As larger volumes of fillers are injected, more extensive and vigorous reactions may be seen.
متن کاملThe repair of brain lesion by implantation of hyaluronic acid hydrogels modified with laminin.
The hyaluronic acid (HA) hydrogels modified with laminin were used for implantation in rat brain in present study, in order to investigate its effects in reparation of injury in the CNS. Cross-linked HA hydrogels were synthesized and their characteristics were analyzed. Laminin, an extracellular matrix protein, which participates in neuronal development and survival, was immobilized on the back...
متن کاملDevelopment of photocrosslinkable hyaluronic acid-polyethylene glycol-peptide composite hydrogels for soft tissue engineering.
Hyaluronic acid (HA; also called hyaluronan) is a naturally derived, nonimmunogenic, nonadhesive glycosaminoglycan that has important roles in several wound-healing processes. In previous work, we created photocrosslinkable glycidyl methacrylate-HA (GMHA) hydrogel biomaterials that were cytocompatible, biologically active, and had a decreased rate of hyaluronidase degradation compared with nati...
متن کاملPolypyrrole-incorporated conductive hyaluronic acid hydrogels
BACKGROUND Hydrogels that possess hydrophilic and soft characteristics have been widely used in various biomedical applications, such as tissue engineering scaffolds and drug delivery. Conventional hydrogels are not electrically conductive and thus their electrical communication with biological systems is limited. METHOD To create electrically conductive hydrogels, we fabricated composite hyd...
